Date Of Birth: October 22, 1925
Date Of Death: August 6, 2011

Sarah Imogene Maners, 88, passed away on August 6, 2011. Better known as “Jean to her immediate family, was born Oct. 25, 1922, to Stella and Marvin Keltner in Mell, KY. The family moved to Mooresville, IN where Sarah and her 5 siblings had many adventures growing up. Stories and songs from her early years have entertained several generations of children with much wisdom and humor, and they will not be forgotten.

Sarah married Kenneth Maners soon after he returned from WWII. They later moved to Indianapolis, living there the rest of their days. They had celebrated their 64th anniversary 6 days before Kenny died in 2009. They have 1 daughter, Barbara Miller (Brent); 5 grandchildren: Christine Hicks (John); Betsy French (Mark); Mark Hera (Andrea); Megan Miller (engaged to Paul Brown) and Josh Miller. They have 6 great-grandchildren, and their 1st great-great grandchild is on the way!

A wonderful homemaker, Sarah also was secretary for Lynhurst Baptist Church for 12 years. She long cherished the friendships from those days. Upon retirement, she taught many Bible classes and offered help to needy children and the elderly.
Many of Sarah’s loved ones have pre-deceased her. She is survived by 1 sister, Iris Pritchard (Howard), many nieces and nephews, and her immediate family previously mentioned.

Sarah’s wit and gentle nature continued to touch many lives, despite her struggle with Alzheimers, and her legacy will live on. Celebrate her life with us at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girl School Rd, Indpls on Thursday,8/11/11. Visitation at 11am and service at 1pm. Arrangements: Harry W. Moore Funeral Care

To the family of Sarah. My mother, Mary Alice Leak, was very fond of Sarah. As a youngster I remember Sarah’s kindness to me. Folks from Lynhurst will always remember she and Ken. Please know that Howard and I have your family in our thoughts and prayers.
    God Bless.
